Objectives:
The aim of the article is to analyze the impact of migration related to the conflict in Ukraine on the management of social policy in Poland and to assess to what extent the Polish social policy system has met the challenges resulting from mass migration.
Material and methods:
The article uses theoretical research methods, in particular analytical-descriptive, comparative and systemic approaches. The analytical-descriptive method helps to identify key concepts and categorize the challenges that migration poses to social policy. Literature, quantitative data from reports and statistics were analyzed. Data were collected to assess changes in Polish social policy resulting from the influx of migrants from Ukraine.
Results:
The results indicate significant changes in the social policy landscape in Poland. The migration wave has forced a rapid reallocation of resources and an adjustment of social policies to adapt to the needs of Ukrainian migrants. Key changes include increased spending on housing assistance, expanded access to health care, and specialized educational support.
Conclusions:
The influx of migrants from Ukraine related to the conflict has significantly affected the management of social policy in Poland, highlighting both adaptability and tensions in the system. While Polish's response has shown resilience and adaptability to address the most pressing needs, the long-term sustainability of such actions is challenging. This case highlights the wider impact of migration on social policies in host countries.
