ABSTRACT
Demographic processes are the basis for making very important decisions, because
they have a direct impact on socio-economic development. Understanding these
processes is crucial for strategic considerations in many areas of state’s functioning.
In the field of education, determination of the perspective and knowledge of
demographic data is a basis for planning and organization of educational policy, and
moving to a lower level of specific institutions (their number, size – opportunities
and threats in the education market). In the era of demographic decline, the number
of children and young people is the starting point for functioning of educational
institutions, then colleges, workplaces, the number of people in childbearing age and
so on. The chain of these relationships and linkages shows how important is the study
and evaluation of demographic processes.
