ABSTRACT
Th is article compares the teaching curricula and expectations of
young people with respect to the matters of security and safety.. Even the
traditional educational institutions (mainly public sphere) must adapt to
these expectations in order to compete for the better prepared candidates
for further study to survive in the market of educational services. Creating
new faculties, diff erent profi les (including the so-called military ones)
is a response to the changing needs and search for interesting, satisfying
young people’s interest.
Th e beginnings of education in these classes (profi les) took place in
the time when the school curriculum included the subject of adoption of
defense. Currently, the program of the education for safety has been drastically
reduced. Th is is why, it is more important to create places where
young people can develop their interest in the area of defense and patriotism,
especially in the time of extensive external threats.
