ABSTRACT
This paper presents the state of world food security and the impact on the security
of the processes of agribusiness sector globalization. It was stated that the processes
of globalization occurring in agriculture and the food economy have various
multidirectional impact on the global food security. On the one hand they contribute
to the growth of global production which can result in greater access to food. On
the other hand, these processes can cause deterioration of food security, mainly due
to the move away from sustainable to large-farming, industrialized agriculture, in
which large agricultural corporations take over more value-added links and leads
to oligopolization of global agribusiness space. This causes a loss of profits by the
current owners and the deterioration of their affordability. Lowest affordable price of
food and thus the worst food security is located in sub-Saharan Africa.
